Hot Beverage Stocks For 2014

Look out PepsiCo, Inc. (NYSE:PEP) and The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO). While you may be the de facto leaders in the overall beverage race, you've got a vulnerability a smaller - and better - competitor is going to exploit. And worse, that competitor now has a partner that could make it an even more formidable enemy... and that partner used to be an enemy, of sorts. The competition The Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo (and by extension, KO and PEP shareholders) need to worry about is Konared Corp. (OTCBB:KRED). While it's inconceivable that KRED would ever dethrone the two kings of the beverage world, it's quite conceivable that Konared and its new partner could make life difficult for Coke and Pepsi, while carving out a solid piece of a particular market for itself.

First things first. Konared is the company and the brand that has turned what was once a coffee-bean byproduct into a great-tasting and amazingly healthy juice. The coffee fruit - which surrounds the coffee bean - had been discarded by the coffee bean industry for years, until it was found that this fruit not only made good juice, but was also packed full of antioxidants and other nutritious ingredients. The coffee fruit grown in the Kona region of Hawaii is particularly tasty. Needless to say, the convergence of an idea and a health trend and a supply became Konared... a fruit juice like no other. Since then, KRED has leveraged its name to add a line of green tea, and also coconut water.

Warren: The answer to the second question is no. The question about the industry is interesting because it true it has consolidated. In some industries there are only two competitors and they still beat each other brains out. Freddie Mac and Sallie Mae. Two enormous companies in battle to beat the other guy out drove prices down to improper levels and did stupid things. Certain industries once down to certain levels do extremely well and others even when there two of them still don do that well. Coke and Pepsi (PEP) in the U.S. are the only two colas people can name and 50 percent of drinks sold are colas, but if you go into the market on a weekend theye pricing the product at low prices and competing vigorously. It industry-specific. The airline industry has situation where have very, very, very low incremental cost per seat with enormous fixed costs. The temptation to sell that last seat at a very low price is very high and sometimes it very hard to distinguish between that seat and the last seat. It labor-intensive and capital intensive and largely commode type business. As Bill Miller points out, it been a death trap for business since Orville took off. If it ever gets down to one airline it will be a wonderful business and the question will be if having gotten down to relatively few through bankruptcy will question be whether it is a good business yet. I don know the answer but I skeptical.

Say whatever you want about Drinks Americas Holdings, Ltd. (OTCMKTS:DKAM), but one thing is undeniable... this company is producing a lot of revenue despite being a very small company. More specifically, the DKAM market cap is abnormally low relative to the sales figures the company is putting up.

Last Friday, small cap stocks MedCAREERS Group Inc (OTCMKTS: MCGI), USmart Mobile Device Inc (OTCMKTS: UMDI) and Drinks Americas Holdings, Ltd (OTCMKTS: DKAM) were all over the place with the first two sinking 54% and 48.05%, respectively, while the last one rose 10.81%. It should be mentioned that all three small cap stocks have been the subject of paid promotions albeit none of these stocks have been over promoted. So where can investors and traders expect these stocks to head this week? Here is a quick look at what you might expect:

So are stock promoters blowing a bunch of hot air regarding these four small cap stocks or are they actually potential winners? Here is a quick reality check to help you decide:

Even though you're reading this now, odds are that three weeks ago you'd never even heard of Drinks Americas Holdings, Ltd. (OTCMKTS:DKAM). And, like so many other young, nano-cap stocks, it would be easy to assume the current strength being exhibited by DKAM is nothing but a short-term phenomenon, meaning there's no particular reason to jump on the stock now. If there was ever a reason to jump onto a micro cap name for a quick trade though, this may be it.
